In Origins a new humanity system was worked in based off the original in DayZ. There are a couple new ways to gain humanity in Origins. Both Bandits and Heroes have three levels.
Everything below is simple guesswork, as no offical guide to the humanity system has been released.

Becoming a HeroEdit

When raising humanity, you are forced to do more than just one of these. The same goes for Killing Dr. Ivan and giving medical help.
Killing bandits will increase one's humanity. This is easily avoidable by switching up what you do: heal people, kill zombies and Ivan, and repeat.
If your humanity is below 2500 then it will slowly regenerate over time until it reaches 2500.
Level one: Humanity >2900
Level two: Humanity >6500
Level three: Humanity >15000

As a level 1 bandit, every kill makes you lose humanity. At level 2 bandit, survivors give you 0 humanity and the rest are the same. And as a level 3 bandit, survivor kills make you gain humanity.
Level 1 bandits give 0 and the rest are the same. Hero kills at any level still give you the normal humanity.
Level one: Humanity <+2000
Level two: Humanity <-6500
Level three: Humanity <-15000
Dying as a level 2 bandit will cause you to gain 500 humanity. Dying as a level 2 hero will cause you to lose 500 humanity.
